MyLab™20Plus Ultrasound Sanner
CCENT has installed an Esaote MyLab™20Plus Ultrasound scanner in our office to provide ENT specialized Ultrasound scanning services directly to our patients.
What is an Ultrasound Scan?
Ultrasound (also called sonography) is a diagnostic medical procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce dynamic visual images of organs, tissues or blood flow inside the body. The high-frequency sound waves are transmitted to the area of interest and the returning echoes are recorded. This type of procedure is often referred to as a sonogram or ultrasound scan.
What is MyLab™20Plus?
The MyLab™20Plus is designed for a multi-application approach and can be customized to meet every individual need. This compact console B/W ultrasound system provides exceptional image quality and maximum efficiency with its small footprint and mobile platform. The smart operation, integrated image archive and report editor provide excellent image quality for effective diagnostics.
For the Patient
At CCENT, ultrasound scanning is used to examine the neck, primarily the thyroid gland, for possible thyroid disease, lumps and masses. It is also used to guide fine-needle biopsies of the thyroid performed in our office. Diagnostic ultrasound is non-invasive, involves no radiation, and avoids the possible hazards of other diagnostic methods. Ultrasound scans are administered by a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer skilled in the use of Ultrasound scanners for neck examinations on patients in a professional, safe and caring manner.
